3rd and 4th grade curriculum are very closely aligned, so having a multi-grade class is ideal! Students are able to see where their reading, writing and math are headed as they work on individual projects as well as team assignments in the two grades.
During these two academic years you will see a distinct shift in both the difficulty of material as well as the way your child will be learning. In reading, students are now reading to learn, rather than learning to read. Math will focus on speed and ease of operations (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing) as well as understanding the "why" of word problems. Writing will begin with narrative style, moving to expository and finally persuasive writing. Our class is always known for our enthusiasm and excellence in our learning!
